Indian Railways continues to strengthen its rail infrastructure with a focus on safety and reliable train operations. Regular track renewal is a key part of this effort to ensure smooth and secure rail movement.
Track Renewal Works
Indian Railways has sanctioned track renewal works on two strategic rail sections in Rajasthan. These routes are vital for passenger services, tourism and regional connectivity.
The first section is the Rai Ka Bagh – Phalodi – Jaisalmer. This section has a total length of 291.126 km. Track renewal has been sanctioned on this section to improve overall track quality.
The second section is the Lalgarh – Kolayat – Phalodi. This section is about 73.742 km long. Track renewal on this section will significantly improve operational efficiency.
The renewal works will use modern 60 kg rails and 60 kg PSC sleepers. This will improve track strength and durability. It will also ensure safer and smoother train operations. The total cost of the sanctioned works is ₹850 crore, aimed at improving long-term track performance.
These works reflect the Indian Railways’ continued commitment to improving rail safety, infrastructure quality and travel comfort.
