In a significant step towards strengthening long distance rail connectivity and enhancing passenger convenience, Indian Railways has introduced a new weekly train, Train No. 15673/15674 Charlapalli–Kamakhya–Charlapalli Amrit Bharat Express. The train will connect important regions of Southern, Eastern and North-Eastern India while providing affordable and comfortable travel facilities for passengers.
Train No. 15673 Charlapalli–Kamakhya Amrit Bharat Express will run as a weekly service, departing from Charlapalli every Wednesday with effect from 18th March 2026 at 19:40 Hrs. and will reach Kamakhya on Friday at 22:00 Hrs. In the return direction, Train No. 15674 Kamakhya–Charlapalli Amrit Bharat Express will depart from Kamakhya every Sunday with effect from 22nd March 2026 at 19:00 Hrs. and will reach Charlapalli on Tuesday at 14:40 Hrs.
During its journey, the train will pass through several important stations under the jurisdiction of East Coast Railway including Duvvada, Pendurti, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam Road, Palasa, Berhampur, Balugaon, Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Jajpur Keonjhar Road and Bhadrak, among others.
The Amrit Bharat Express trains are modern LHB coach trains designed to provide affordable travel with improved passenger amenities for long distance journeys. These trains feature enhanced seating arrangements, better luggage space, improved safety features and upgraded passenger comfort facilities, primarily catering to general and sleeper class passengers.
The introduction of this train will further strengthen rail connectivity and benefit passengers travelling through Odisha and Andhra Pradesh under the jurisdiction of East Coast Railway. The new service is expected to improve mobility for students, workers and traders while also promoting tourism, pilgrimage travel and local economic activity across the regions served by the train.
