Bhubaneswar, 23 October 2026
East Coast Railway has achieved its October 2026 scrap sale target of ₹17 crore on 22 October, ahead of the scheduled month end deadline, under Special Campaign 6. The achievement reflects ECoR’s sustained efforts towards efficient asset management, systematic disposal of scrap materials and optimum utilisation of railway resources.
The timely disposal of scrap is an important aspect of railway resource management. It helps generate revenue, release valuable space in railway premises, improve the upkeep of railway establishments and promote cleanliness across railway installations. Such initiatives also facilitate better utilisation of available infrastructure and contribute to a more organised working environment.

The achievement is the outcome of the coordinated efforts of the Headquarters Engineering Department, all divisions of East Coast Railway and the Mancheswar Carriage Repair Workshop (MCS Workshop). Their collective commitment and sustained efforts helped ECoR accomplish the target well before the stipulated deadline.
Sambalpur Division made a significant contribution towards achieving the target. The contribution of the division, along with the support and cooperation of the other divisions, departments and workshop personnel, played an important role in this accomplishment.
ECoR remains committed to efficient management of railway assets, timely disposal of unserviceable materials and effective implementation of initiatives aimed at improving resource utilisation and maintaining cleanliness across the railway network.
