Bhubaneswar, July 27, 2026:
East Coast Railway has honoured Shri K. Narendra, Technician Grade-I (Carriage & Wagon) of Rayagada under Rayagada Division with the Safety Award for his exemplary vigilance and professional commitment towards ensuring safe train operations.
While carrying out a routine inspection of a loaded goods train at Rayagada on 29th June 2026, Shri Narendra noticed a broken yoke and damaged back stopper welding on one of the wagons. Realising that the defect could affect the safe movement of the train, he immediately arranged to remove the defective wagon from the train for replacement before it continued its journey.
His timely action helped prevent a possible safety risk and ensured the safe movement of the train.
East Coast Railway has commended his dedication and vigilance, which exemplify the organisation’s strong safety culture and the commitment of its employees towards ensuring safe, secure and reliable train operations.
