Bhubaneswar, 22 October 2026
East Coast Railway (ECoR) will organise a ‘Jan Sambad’ campaign across its stations on 22 October 2026, with the objective of strengthening direct communication between the Railways and the public, enhancing passenger awareness and promoting greater public participation in improving railway services.
The ‘Jan Sambad’ initiative is aimed at establishing an effective platform for interaction between railway officials, passengers and members of the public. Through direct engagement, the campaign seeks to understand passenger needs, gather feedback on railway services and amenities, address public concerns and disseminate information about various passenger oriented initiatives of Indian Railways.
During the campaign, railway officials and staff will interact with passengers at stations and sensitise them about important aspects of railway functioning, including passenger safety, cleanliness, proper use of railway premises, observance of safety precautions while boarding and alighting from trains, and responsible travel practices. Passengers will also be encouraged to share their suggestions and concerns regarding station facilities, passenger amenities and the overall travel experience.
The campaign will further provide an opportunity to create awareness about the importance of maintaining clean railway premises, protecting railway property, avoiding unsafe practices and extending cooperation to railway personnel in ensuring smooth and safe train operations. Feedback and suggestions received during these interactions will help railway authorities better understand passenger expectations and identify areas requiring attention.
