CANCELLATION AND DIVERSION OF TRAINS DUE TO CYCLONE MONTHA

In view of the imminent Cyclone MONTHA and in the interest of passenger safety, East Coast Railway (ECoR) has announced the cancellation, diversion, and short termination of several coaching trains operating in the Waltair region and connected routes.
These measures are purely precautionary, based on alerts and forecasts issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Cancelled Trains
The following trains have been cancelled to ensure the safety and convenience of passengers:

  1. 18515 Visakhapatnam–Kirandul Night Express leaving Visakhapatnam on 27.10.2025
  2. 18516 Kirandul–Visakhapatnam Night Express leaving Kirandul on 28.10.2025
  3. 58501 Visakhapatnam–Kirandul Passenger leaving Visakhapatnam on 28.10.2025
  4. 58502 Kirandul–Visakhapatnam Passenger leaving Kirandul on 28.10.2025
  5. 58538 Visakhapatnam–Koraput Passenger leaving Visakhapatnam on 28.10.2025
  6. 58537 Koraput–Visakhapatnam Passenger leaving Koraput on 28.10.2025

    Diversion of Train:
    • Train No. 18189 Tatanagar–Ernakulam Express, leaving Tatanagar on 28.10.2025, will be diverted via Titlagarh Jn.–Lakholi–Raipur–Nagpur–Balharshah stations.
    Short Termination of Trains:
    • Train No. 18447 Bhubaneswar–Jagdalpur Hirakhand Express leaving Bhubaneswar on 27.10.2025 will be short terminated at Rayagada.
    • Train No. 18107 Rourkela–Jagdalpur Intecity Express leaving Rourkela on 27.10.2025 will be short terminated at Rayagada.
    Precautionary and Safety Measures Taken by ECoR
    To manage the situation efficiently and ensure passenger safety, the following measures have been put in place:
  33. Round-the-clock monitoring and activation of Emergency Control at all Divisional Headquarters.
  34. Continuous coordination with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) for real-time updates.
  35. Restoration teams ready at important stations for immediate response. Relief materials kept ready at vulnerable locations.
  36. Additional staff deployed at key locations for operational and passenger support.
  37. Food, water, and shelters arranged at major stations for stranded passengers.
  38. Additional counters are opened for refund and Help desk are also operated at important locations.
    Passengers are advised to check the latest train running updates through the National Train Enquiry System (NTES), IRCTC website/app, or contact the nearest Railway Helpline before starting their journey.
