Shri Parmeshwar Funkwal, General Manager, East Coast Railway, inspected Puri Railway Station today and reviewed the ongoing station redevelopment works, passenger amenities and overall operational preparedness at the station.
During the inspection, the General Manager reviewed the progress of various redevelopment and infrastructure enhancement works being undertaken at Puri Railway Station. He directed the officials to ensure timely completion of the works and ensuring minimum inconvenience to passengers.
Shri Funkwal also inspected the passenger amenities at the station and reviewed the arrangements being made for the convenience of rail users. He emphasised the need for regular monitoring and continuous improvement of passenger facilities at Puri Railway Station, which caters to a large number of pilgrims and tourists throughout the year.
The General Manager also checked the quality of drinking water at the station. He advised the officials to ensure the prescribed quality parameters are strictly maintained and regular testing and monitoring of drinking water is carried out to ensure safe and hygienic water supply to passengers.
Divisional Railway Manager, Khurda Road Division, along with senior officers from East Coast Railway Headquarters and Khurda Road Division, accompanied the General Manager during the inspection.
