<\/figure>\n\n\n\nGeneral Manager, East Coast Railway, Shri Parameshwar Funkwal, reviewed the restoration activities at Maligura on September 28, one of the major affected locations in the Koraput\u2013Jeypore section. He inspected the affected stretches and reviewed the progress of restoration and safety works being undertaken at the site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the inspection, Principal Heads of Departments, including Principal Chief Engineer, Principal Chief Signal & Telecommunication Engineer and Chief Electrical Engineer, were present and apprised the General Manager of the restoration measures being undertaken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Divisional Railway Manager, Rayagada, along with senior divisional officers, briefed the General Manager about the ground situation, restoration progress and measures being taken for early normalisation of train operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Continuous and extremely heavy rainfall has caused landslides, soil slips and waterlogging at several locations in the Koraput\u2013Rayagada and Koraput\u2013Jeypore sections. The affected locations, except Maligura Yard, have been promptly attended to and restored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, Maligura Yard continues to remain a major challenge due to the extent of the landslide and the large volume of earth and debris affecting railway infrastructure. Extensive damage has occurred to the track, OHE and signalling infrastructure near MVG (Maligura) Station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Restoration works are in full swing at the landslide-affected site. Additional manpower, heavy machinery and other resources are being mobilised for round-the-clock restoration works, including night operations. Safety is being accorded the highest priority during all restoration activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
More than 600 personnel, including officers, have been deployed at Maligura for restoration works. Heavy machinery, specialised equipment and departmental teams are being deployed continuously to clear the affected stretches and restore the railway infrastructure at the earliest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Adequate lighting arrangements, temporary shelters, portable toilets, drinking water, catering facilities and medical support, including first-aid arrangements, have been provided at the work sites to facilitate the workforce engaged in the restoration activities. Considering the prolonged restoration activities and deployment of personnel at the affected location, arrangements for food, drinking water, medical assistance and other essential requirements have also been made available for the workers and railway personnel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Senior officers and staff from Engineering, Electrical, Signal & Telecommunication, Operating, Mechanical, Commercial and other concerned departments, led by DRM\/Rayagada, are stationed at the affected location and continuously monitoring the restoration work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The situation is being closely monitored at both Headquarters and Divisional levels. East Coast Railway is making all-out efforts to expedite the restoration and normalise train operations at the earliest, while ensuring the highest standards of safety for passengers and railway personnel.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
