He appealed passengers to avoid single use plastic and adopt sustainable alternatives for a cleaner and greener environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The General Manager also appealed passengers to use dustbins provided at railway stations and dispose of waste properly, instead of littering railway premises. He emphasized that maintaining cleanliness at railway stations is a shared responsibility and called upon passengers and the public to actively participate in the cleanliness initiatives of Indian Railways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n East Coast Railway is observing Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 from September 17 to October 2 under the theme \u201cSwachhata Mein Sahbhag: Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat\u201d, focusing on Jan Bhagidari (public participation), cleanliness and sustainable waste management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Shri Funkwal also inspected the cleanliness and hygiene arrangements at Cuttack Railway Station, including platforms, waiting halls, toilets, Foot Over Bridges, circulating areas, drinking water points and food stalls. He reviewed waste management, drainage and housekeeping arrangements and directed officials to ensure regular cleaning and proper disposal of waste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The General Manager further inspected the ongoing station redevelopment works and reviewed the progress of various projects aimed at providing modern passenger facilities.
